What Is a Bridal Suite?
The bridal suite is a private room or suite at the wedding venue (or nearby hotel) designated for the wedding party's preparation on the morning of the wedding. A good bridal suite includes: ample natural lighting for makeup application, large mirrors, comfortable seating, a full-length mirror, space for dress hanging and photography, a bathroom, a small fridge for snacks and champagne, and enough square footage for the full getting-ready party plus photographers. Most full-service wedding venues include a bridal suite in their package.
The Bridal Suite in Modern Weddings
The 'getting ready' portion of the wedding day is heavily photographed and represents some of the most emotional and joyful documentation of the day. Brides and their parties often spend 4–6 hours in the bridal suite with photographers present. When evaluating wedding venues, always ask to see the bridal suite — not just the ceremony and reception spaces. Lighting quality, size, and aesthetics matter enormously for both comfort and photography.
